Top 5 Items Under £25 to Improve Your Style
A few cheap purchases can really upgrade your overall look and also save you time, effort and money. There are a few things in my style arsenal that are not only indispensable but they don't break the bank either. The following are the top 5 items that I use on a day-to-day basis that cost less than £25.
A Clothes Brush
An unsung hero, the clothes brush is a versatile and necessary item that will not only get rid of white deodarant marks easily but also more stubborn stains like muddy splash marks from the rain. It will save you time and money on trips to the dry cleaners and it will prevent over-washing on denim. At only £14, there are few items that provide the same value for money. It's small so you can take it on holiday too.
Saphir Renovateur
A pot of sheer wonder, Saphir's Renovateur is an all-in-one cleanser, reconditioner and shiner for calf leather shoes. Apply sparingly with a piece of cloth, leave for five minutes (for best results, leave on the leather overnight) and buff off. Your shoes will be conditioned and shiny. Magic stuff. It lasts for ages and is only £12 for a pot.
Collar Stays
Limp collars that curl at the edges are not a good look. Throw out the cheap plastic ones that come with most shirts and keep your collars straight and pointy all day with a set of metal collar stays. Your jackets and ties will sit nicer too, polishing your overall look. £10.
Watch Strap Removal Bar
They can be a bit fiddly to use but once you've got the hang of them, you can change the strap of your watch in minutes. Swapping out the strap is a great way to change up the look of your watch and a good way to accessorise with your outfit, because you match your watch strap to your belt and shoes right? £5.
A Card Holder
Wallets have a way of accruing dozens of cards that you rarely use i.e. loyalty cards, business cards etc. I once had around 22 in an old wallet that really bulked out the wallet and therefore, my pocket. Invest in a slimline card holder and you can trim this down to a much more manageable number, keeping your pockets streamlined and your aesthetic clean. You can also carry some cash in them too. £25.
